Since the founding of their “Studio De Pas, D’Urbino, Lomazzi” (or Studio DDL) in 1966, the three designers have distinguished themselves primarily for their unconventional pop-inspired style, recognizable in many of their furniture pieces. They collaborated with the most prominent companies in the furniture industry, winning the prestigious Compasso d’Oro Award in 1979. The production of Studio DDL is documented in the historical literature on Italian design and in major international publications on architecture and industrial design. Numerous works are part of the permanent design collections in various museums around the world and have been selected for traveling exhibitions on Italian design. The studio has operated and continues to operate even after the death of De Pas, working on architecture, objects, installations, furniture design, and urban planning, combining its design activity with cultural and educational endeavors.
